United Flight Services Brings Piper Arrow On-Line.
Monday, June 16, 2003
Watsonville, California
As part of its continuing program to upgrade
its fleet and services, on June 15th United Flight Services brought a Piper
Arrow on-line. The Arrow is a four place, “complex” aircraft ideally
suited for training leading to a commercial certificate. Features of
the Arrow include a 200hp engine, retractable landing gear, a constant speed
propeller, a single axis autopilot and an electric auxiliary vacuum system.
Avionics include KNS-81 RNAV, KY-97A navcom, KX-170B navcom, KN-62 DME, and
an ADF. In addition, the Arrow has a newly rebuilt engine, a new propeller,
and completely redone interior. In addition to being an excellent commercial
trainer, with a cruise speed of approximately 135kts (155mph), the Arrow
is also an excellent rental aircraft for advanced pilots. The addition of
the Arrow continues the expansion in capacity for advanced training (instrument
and commercial) started by the new management of United Flight last year
with the acquisition of a Piper Archer II instrument trainer, the renovation
of a Cessna 172 trainer, and the acquisition earlier this year of advanced
flight simulators. These efforts are all part of United Flight’s goal
of being a premier provider of flight services for the Monterey Bay aviation
community.
